Life was unfair for little Heidi who was orphaned by both her parents when she was very young. At one point, her mother's sister could no longer care for her, so at the age of five she left her with her grandfather, who lived in the Swiss Alps and was the only relative he had.
The grandfather was a strange man who lived isolated high in the mountains and rarely went down to the nearest village. Everyone considered him a savage and feared him. But when he met his granddaughter, he began to change. The kindness and purity of the girl awakened in him emotions that slept for many years.
Life on the mountain flowed carefree, until the moment when Claire entered Heidi's life and then everything started to change…
Heidi is the most famous childhood story of the Swiss author Johanna Spiri. Although written in 1880, it is read non-stop by young and old to this day.
