Build this Traffic Light and learn how electronic circuits control signs.
HOW IT WORKS:
The traffic lights operate using an intelligent digital electronic system. In digital electronic systems there are only two types of signals, on and off. In manual mode, each time you press the button, an activation signal passes to a measurement circuit that counts in 2-bit binary numbers (0 and 1) from zero to three. This meter is connected to the lamps. With zero it sends a signal to the red LED, with one it sends a signal to the yellow, with two to the green and with the three again to the orange LED. When you press the button again, the counter returns to zero. In automatic mode, a separate timing circuit sends a signal to the metering circuit every two seconds, which causes the lamps to change automatically.
